Museums across the nation are collaborating within the Blue Star Museums initiative, a program that gives free admission to currently-serving U.S. army personnel and their households this summer time.
The 2021 program started final Saturday on Armed Forces Day, Might 15. It ends on Labor Day, Sept. 6. This system is a collaboration among the many Nationwide Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Households, the Division of Protection, and museums providing free admission to the nation’s active-duty army personnel and their households, together with Nationwide Guard and Reserve.
Greater than 2,000 museums throughout America take part in Blue Star Museums every summer time. In line with the Nationwide Endowment for the Arts, the next north nation museums are participating in this system:
n Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens in Buffalo.
n Buffalo Museum of Science in Buffalo.
n Corning Museum of Glass in Corning.
n The Rockwell Museum in Corning
n Roycroft Campus in East Aurora.
n Erie Canal Discovery Heart in Lockport.
n Niagara County Historic Society in Lockport.
n George Eastman Museum in Rochester.
n Memorial Artwork Gallery in Rochester.
n Rochester Museum and Science Heart in Rochester.
