DAHS students present at PJAS
Leah McFadden and Melina Petrick virtually presented their research projects at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science regional competition. Projects were under COVID protocol and have been researched and presented with safety in mind for all. Petrick, a senior, received a first award for her presentation on her project entitled, “How Prescribed Fires Promote Growth.” McFadden, a sophomore, received a second award for her presentation of her project, “Prism Lens Therapy in Combating Rising Myopia in Children.” Receiving a first award in the presentation judging makes a student eligible to virtually present at the PJAS state competition in May. Congratulating the students are DAHS Science Team Coach Douglas Brennan (at left) and DAHS Assistant Principal Charles Pasternak. Petrick is shown second from right, while McFadden is shown at right.
