The Republican National Committee will require attendees of its spring donor retreat in Florida to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 before entry, the Washington Examiner first reported.
People planning to attend the retreat, which is set to begin later this week, received an email telling them they would be require to “take a COVID-19 PCR or Rapid Antigen test and receive a negative result,” and give that information to the RNC, according to the Washington Examiner, regardless of vaccination status.
The event will be held in a luxury hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, though a portion of the retreat will take place at Mar-a-Lago, former President Donald Trump’s private club and current residence, where he is scheduled to speak.
The retreat is an opportunity for prominent GOP politicians—including those looking to run for president in 2024—a chance to mingle with influential donors.
The RNC did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Forbes.
This is a developing story.
